Blyth Harbour Commission (Port of Blyth) is the Statutory Harbour Authority responsible for marine safety and conservancy on the River Blyth

The Marine Department operates on a 24 hour, 365 day basis and provides a variety of services including dredging, pilotage, towage, foyboatmen, fresh water, waste disposal and general navigation control.

As part of its role, the Port also focuses on environmental protection, maintaining a number of marine plans and management systems designed to prevent or minimise the impact of incidents potentially detrimental to the environment.
