22/04/2021

Port of Blyth and its decommissioning partner Thompsons of Prudhoe have been shortlisted as finalists in the Decom North Sea Awards.

Shortlisted for the Decom North Sea Excellence in Collaboration Award, the partnership was announced at the beginning of 2020 and since then has gone from strength to strength, winning several important projects. The decommissioning of Orbital Marine Power’s SR2000 tidal turbine included the heaviest lift undertaken at the Port of Blyth at 516 tonnes.

Alan Todd, Port Director at Port of Blyth, said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted for this award at such an early stage in our partnership with Thompsons of Prudhoe and firmly believe that it reflects the quality and unique skillsets that both parties bring to the partnership. We look forward to the award being announced during Decom Week”.

The winners of the awards will be announced during Decom Week which takes place 17th-20th May 2021.
