Property & Storage

All your property & storage needs covered

High quality property and storage solutions are on offer at competitive rates with significant added value services available

The Port’s ship handling operations are supported by extensive property options and a range of open and covered storage facilities providing an essential buffer for the efficient and cost effective movement of all cargoes and equipment.

EXISTING & BESPOKE SOLUTIONS

Over 65,000sqm of high quality workshop and warehousing space is provided over three ISPS secure terminals, all our operational berths hold temporary storage approval (TS) and consequently are inventory-linked. Specialist facilities are also available such as under floor aeration for certain bulk cargoes and overhead cranage for larger pieces of equipment or cargo.

The Port is adept at converting existing warehousing for other uses with many now given over as engineering workshops for clients in the offshore energy sector. Similarly, the Port has an excellent track record of managing the construction of significant new build facilities for a range of customers.

Large areas of open storage are also provided, close to working quays and all within fully secure port terminals. Many customers from the offshore energy sector have utilised the open storage available in Blyth, with the Port gaining an excellent reputation for reel handling and storage.

LAND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Blyth estuary features a number of significant land development opportunities which provide incoming clients with a range of new build property options – all on prime quayside land adjacent to heavy lift quays. These include sites at the newly redeveloped Bates Clean Energy Terminal and at Northumberland Energy Park Phase 1, the £35m redevelopment of the 36HA former Blyth Power Station site. ADDITIONAL LOGISTICS SERVICES

Standard storage facilities are increasingly being used for the holding of strategic stock and servicing just-in-time deliveries with many companies using the Port for movements in and out by road as well import and export by sea.

To supplement the storage facilities available, the Port’s logistics subsidiary Transped provides a comprehensive worldwide logistics service including collection, warehousing, packing, Customs documentation, shipping & delivery.

SUPPORTIVE CLUSTER

By locating on site many businesses take advantage of having the large cluster of companies that make up the local supply chain on hand to support their activities. Complex projects are regularly completed following the expert input and services of companies based solely on site.

To drive forward opportunities for collaboration, the Port actively promotes the services of all our tenants both formally and informally. All offshore energy related tenants automatically become members of Energy Central, with many taking advantage of the quarterly Energy Central Breakfast Briefing networking events.
