PORT OF BLYTH ACHIEVES BETTER HEALTH AT WORK BRONZE AWARD

03/01/2025

Port of Blyth is delighted to share that it has achieved the Better Health at Work Bronze Award, which supports and recognises employer efforts to create a healthier workplace.

Over the past year, Port of Blyth has invested significantly in supporting the health and wellbeing of its workforce, adopting a series of initiatives including regular email campaigns to staff on key health and wellbeing topics, hosted wellbeing events such as Staff Breakfast Club and Gym in the Park sessions, recruited a team of dedicated Health Advocates to provide support and refer staff to relevant resources, advice and information and continued to offer BUPA private health care to all staff, which provides ongoing, around-the-clock support for a wealth of mental/physical conditions.

Following a period of assessment, the Port was awarded the Bronze Award in December 2024, which marks the first step in the Port’s long-term commitment to continuously improve health and wellbeing in the workplace.

Martin Lawlor OBE, Chief Executive at the Port of Blyth, commented: “Achieving the Better Health at Work Bronze Award, is a proud milestone for the Port of Blyth and reflects our dedication to fostering a healthier, more supportive workplace for our exceptional workforce. This award also gives well deserved recognition to our staff and management for their efforts in prioritising wellbeing, and we remain steadfast in building on this achievement to ensure an environment where everyone can thrive.”

Port of Blyth will work towards achieving the Silver Award throughout 2025.
