The Port of Blyth has once again channeled its energy into supporting the local community, concluding its most successful Christmas Appeal to date in aid of Blyth Foodbank and Operation Elf.
Bringing together Port staff, tenants, local businesses and the community, the appeal sparked a wave of generosity that raised a record £4,939 for Blyth Foodbank and collected a record 163 gifts for local children, helping provide much-needed support and festive cheer to families and individuals across Blyth.
To help meet growing demand, the Port created a JustGiving page for Blyth Foodbank and served as a central gift donation hub for Operation Elf, encouraging employees, partner businesses, and the local community to contribute.
The impact of this year’s appeal was further strengthened by the generosity of businesses around the Blyth Estuary. GEOS Group, JK Lifting, Harlyn, NRL Group, Royal IHC, Subco Engineering and VOE Marine each made a generous financial contribution to Blyth Foodbank. In addition, GEOS Group, Horizon Works, Royal IHC, TEXO, The Wind Academy and VOE Marine donated a large number of gifts to Operation Elf, helping ensure as many families as possible experience the magic of Christmas this year.
