All Welcome at Public Terminal Regeneration Drop In

11/04/2019
Bates Terminal

The Port has announced plans for a public drop in event to share details of a five year investment plan for the Bates terminal in Blyth.

With its South Harbour terminal is now operating close to full capacity, the Port is now focusing on utilising the newly combined Bates and Wimbourne Quay terminals (now known simply as Bates terminal) to offer much needed expansion opportunities to potential incoming companies.

On Wednesday 24 April, staff from the Port will be on hand at Morpeth Road Academy between 5-8pm to explain more about exciting redevelopment plans for the terminal and the opportunities this project will provide for the town.

The drop in session will give the community a chance to view information on the proposed development, ask questions of Port staff in attendance and give their views on the proposals.

Alan Todd, Port Director, said: “The drop is open to all members of the community and we’d really like to encourage local residents to join us, ask questions and view the potential benefits that the redevelopment offers the town. We’re really excited to share these plans with our neighbours and local residents as well as business owners and look forward to hosting the event.”

The drop in will take place as follows:

  • Date: Wednesday 24 April 2019
  • Location: Morpeth Road Academy, Bates Avenue, Blyth NE24 5TQ
  • Time: 5.00-8.00pm
