This year the Port has been supporting the Blyth Foodbank – which supports families and individuals in need from our community.
As a result of the cost of living crisis, Blyth Foodbank has noticed a big increase in the amount they are spending to compensate for the reduction in donations as well as an increase in people who need their help.
Together with our stakeholders, we have raised over £700 for the food bank which will be used to purchase essential items for food parcels. Port employees have also donated over 100 selection boxes, to ensure that those who have very little can enjoy a few treats on Christmas Day.
