Offshore Decommissioning Conference 2021

The Port will be exhibiting alongside its decommissioning partner Thompsons of Prudhoe at Oil & Gas UK‘s Offshore Decommissioning Conference 2021 next week.

The event will bring together industry leaders from across the UK and Europe for the annual event which returns to St. Andrews after an all virtual event last year. Click here for ticket details and be sure to join us at the conference which takes place next week as follows:

Day 1 – 23 November 8am-5.30pm | Day 2 – 24 November 8am-3.30pm

The Port and Thompsons of Prudhoe have recently made a joint investment of £1m in a range of enhancements to the licence decommissioning facility at the Port, whilst our partner has also recently been granted a NORM treatment licence – further enhancing the partnership’s offering to the sector.

The successful application for the licence is a critical step towards providing customers with a ‘one-stop-shop’ for onshore decommissioning operations, in support of their ongoing and future decommissioning plans.

In addition, operation of the new NORM Treatment Facility located on-site will remove the requirement to transport NORM contaminated materials to other facilities in the UK and will therefore help to reduce carbon emissions in support of the UK’s Net Zero aspirations.
