The Port of Blyth’s popular Annual Community Photography Competition for 2020 has a winner! Despite the most challenging of years, we still received a record number of entries with a really high standard throughout. More than three hundred entries were shortlisted and displayed on the competition page, whilst twelve images were selected as finalists.
We’re delighted to announce that Richard Turnbull’s wonderful image ‘Setting Sail’ (pictured) has been chosen as the overall winner.
Port of Blyth’s Chief Executive, Martin Lawlor, said: “In a year like no other, the competition has been a great opportunity for us to celebrate both the activities of the port and the town itself. We received a record number of entries and the standard this year has been superb. Congratulations to Richard for his brilliant winning image and to all the finalists, and thank you to everyone who entered.”
Richard will receive a prize of £100 worth of Amazon vouchers – perhaps to go towards some new equipment – and a bottle of champagne, while all the finalists will also receive a prize.
The finalists were:
Barry Hunter
Joan Hunter
Mandy Moore
Julie Pearson
Tracey Easton
Terry Cavner
Michael Jobson
Ron Dobson
John Fatkin
