The Port of Blyth’s popular Annual Community Photography Competition for 2019 has a winner! With a record number of entries, the standard reached a really high level with more than three hundred entries shortlisted and twelve images making the final.
We’re delighted to announce that Vix Everard’s superb image ‘A Boy and His Dog’ (pictured) has been selected as the overall winner.
Port of Blyth’s Chief Executive, Martin Lawlor, said: “The competition is a great opportunity for us to celebrate both the activities of the port and the town itself. With a record number of entries and more than three hundred of those shortlisted, the standard this year has been incredible. Congratulations to Vix for her outstanding winning image and to all the finalists, and thank you to everyone who entered.”
Vix will receive a prize of £100 worth of Amazon vouchers – perhaps to go towards some new equipment – a bottle of champagne and pride of place for her image on the front cover of the Port’s Community Calendar 2020.
Of course, a number of other great images have reached the final of the competition and will also appear in the calendar. We extend our congratulations to all those who were selected as finalists.
