General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), is a new piece of EU legislation that comes into effect today (25/05/18). To help comply with GDPR consent requirements, Port of Blyth has taken several steps to ensure we continue to protect any data held relating to any of our stakeholders.
The Port has always complied with data protection laws and consider it vitally important that we treat individual’s data with the utmost care and always take appropriate steps to protect it. We DO NOT sell or share stakeholder’s data with anyone else.
As a result of these new regulations, individuals have increased rights regarding their personal data. These include being able to see the data that companies hold on them and updating any preferences for the use of such data. Click here for further advice from the Information Commissioner’s Office.
