Tall Ships set to visit the Port of Blyth

The Port of Blyth is delighted that the North Sea Tall Ships Regatta 2016 will be hosted at the Port from 26-29 August 2016.

Detailed preparations continue for the regatta, which is being hosted by Port of Blyth in conjunction with Northumberland County Council and will see some of the world’s most spectacular vessels descend on Blyth for one of the biggest events ever held in the region.

There will be a huge range of activities for all the family with lots to see and do along the Blyth Quayside with entertainment, food and drink and as many as 30 stunning Tall Ships taking part. Visitors can also expect nightly fireworks, live music and grand parades.

This maritime celebration takes place during the 60th anniversary of The Tall Ships Races, and our event will end with a race from the Northumberland coast to Gothenburg, Sweden.

Attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors, the Regatta is expected to generate as much as £25m for the local economy. The race is organised by Sail Training International, with more information available at the event’s website: www.tallshipsblyth2016.com
