Port Christmas Appeal Targets Retired Heroes

21/12/2017
Port of Blyth Christmas Appeal

For a Christmas Appeal this year the Port will be supporting the Blyth branch of The Royal Artillery Association who work with veterans living in our community, promoting comradeship & providing vital support for those who have fallen on hard times.

At Christmas time they arrange a lunch for elderly veterans living in Blyth, which with the help of our staff we are delighted to be supporting.

Whilst the Port will be making a donation to the organisers to help with the cost of putting on the event, our staff have helped by collecting together over 600 items to make up a Christmas gift bag for each veteran attending the lunch containing chocolate treats, toiletries and bottles of beer!

We would like to thank our staff for their commitment to the appeal and would also like to acknowledge the commitment of our design agency El Roboto who have kindly designed and supplied a Christmas card to go with the gift bag.

Merry Christmas!
