The Port of Blyth’s Annual Community Photography Competition for 2022 has a winner! The competition saw hundreds of fantastic entries capturing coastal activity in and around the Port of Blyth, the river, and the nearby beaches throughout the year.

Anemoi Marine Technologies have extended the lease for their land-based Rotor Sail test facility at the Port of Blyth following a period of growth for the business.

The Port of Blyth has been selected by Stokesley (North Yorkshire) based Van Oord Offshore Wind UK Limited as the location for the storage and mobilisation of inter-array cable for the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm.

Following a multi-million pound investment programme, the Port of Blyth has announced the opening of its Bates Clean Energy Terminal, offering enhanced facilities and the opportunity for low-carbon focused investment and innovation. The Secretary of State for Transport, Anne-Marie Trevelyan carried out the official duties at an event attended by a wide range of Port stakeholders. This major redevelopment scheme, supported by funding from the North East Local Enterprise Partnership and North of Tyne Combined Authority, strengthens the Port’s reputation as one of the UK’s leading offshore energy support bases. It has created an enlarged 17-hectare terminal with two berths, upgraded heavy lift quays and up to 5 hectares of fully remediated, prime quayside development land.
