Lloyds Bank has joined forces with four companies to showcase the good things happening in British business as part of their 'by the side of business' campaign. Launched on 5 June, the campaign highlights the Port of Blyth as a leading offshore energy support base that has orchestrated great transformation in recent years. Lloyds celebrates the Port of Blyth for redefining its purpose to become the centre of a major offshore renewable energy cluster as well as demonstrating best practice in decarbonising its own activities.

PORT OF BLYTH SUPPORTS NATURE RECOVERY PROJECT – THE BIGGEST OF ITS KIND IN THE WORLD

Commissioner’s Quay at Blyth is the latest location for Groundwork North East & Cumbria’s pioneering work to improve biodiversity and water quality in the region’s rivers and estuaries.  The Port of Blyth who own and operate the Quay has played a key role in supporting the installation of a web of 57 vertically hanging artificial ‘Shelter Shells’, the biggest installation of its kind in the world.

PORT OF BLYTH FORMS PARTNERSHIP TO ELIMINATE FISHING NET POLLUTION

Port of Blyth has partnered with Journey Blue and North Sea Rejects to eliminate fishing net pollution around the Blyth Estuary. Journey Blue's Net Collect Programme provides fishermen access to a free fishnet waste disposal facility to keep fishing nets from being discarded at sea or in landfill.

BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD AS PORT OF BLYTH HAILS 2022 AS ANOTHER RECORD YEAR

The Port of Blyth has announced record financial results and several landmark achievements for 2022 at its recent Annual Public Meeting. Overall Group turnover grew to £30.4 million, breaking the record for the second year running. Turnover increased by 19.2% compared to the previous year, whilst group operating profit grew by 72% to £3.7 million.
